Terms and Conditions

By booking a JCOM Masterclass, you accept these terms and conditions.

1. JCOM Masterclasses (JM)
Successful applicants will be selected by the Selection Committee. If chosen, a formal confirm will be made in writing (email) at which point the successful candidate will be required to pay the registration fee by bank transfer.

2. Selection criteria
Candidates who registered will be selected considering their curriculum, the date of submission of the registration form and the motivation statement which should illustrate: why they are interested in science communication programmes and if they are already active in the field; what they would like to gain from the course; how they can apply what learnt to their local context; etc. It is very important candidates give all information that will help the Selection Committee to operate a good selection. The motivation statement is part of the Application form, and the cv has to be uploaded when filling in the same online form.

3. Fees
3.1. Following acceptance of your application, you must pay by bank transfer the full amount of the fees not less than 6 weeks before the start of the JM.

3.2. If fees are not paid by the due date, JM will be entitled to reallocate your place.

4. Refunds and cancellation
4.1. You may cancel a JM if your notification is received by JM a minimum of 30 days prior to the start of the JM. Provided JM has received your notice of cancellation within this time frame (and acknowledged your notice), JM will refund any fees received from you where applicable.
Please ensure JM has acknowledged your notice of cancellation. We will not be able to refund you where we did not receive your notice 30 days before the start of the JM (regardless of when you sent it).

4.2. We will not be able to refund you where you do not attend and do not cancel in line with the above.
