• SISSA, the International School of Advanced Studies, founded in 1978 is a scientific centre of excellence hosting three main research areas: mathematics, physics and neuroscience. Since 1993 the School has been offering a Masters in Science Communication – becoming the longest running in Europe. 
    Sissa Medialab is SISSA's in-house company dedicated to science communication products and services for the scientific community and the general public. In the last 8 years it has trained in science communication nearly 3000 people between senior scientists, Phd and university students, museum staff and young people wishing to become professionals in the different field of science communication.

  • ICGEB, the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, is an international organisation dedicated to advanced research and training in molecular biology and biotechnology, with special regard to the needs of the developing countries.
  • Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste is a multidisciplinary international laboratory of excellence, specialized in generating high quality synchrotron and free-electron laser light and applying it in materials science. The main assets of the research centre are two advanced light sources, the electron storage ring ELETTRA and the free-electron laser (FEL) FERMI, continuously (H24) operated supplying light of the selected "colour" and quality to more than 30 experimental stations.
